Interested in becoming a mentor?

We anticipate a growing demand for business mentors, particularly following the cessation of Business Link's face-to-face advisory service. As this demand grows we will want to recruit additional mentors to join us at Harlow Business Mentors. To help us to ensure we deliver a consistently high level of service, mentors wishing to join HBM should meet the following criteria:

Experience

• A minimum of 10 years business-related experience
• A minimum of 3 years experience of setting up and/or running their own business
• Management experience, either as a business owner or in an employed role
• Have knowledge and experience of enterprise in the West Essex/M11/East Herts region
  

Commitment

• Be able to commit to a minimum of 4 hours mentoring per month if required
• Have a commitment to Continuous Professional Development in their specialist field and also within business in general
• Adhere to the principles of the Institute of Consulting Code of Conduct

Qualifications and training

• Be trained in business mentoring prior to mentoring
• Preferably hold a relevant qualification and/or professional accreditation – e.g. MBA, CIM, FCCA
• Provide evidence of customer/client satisfaction

Mentors who aspire to deliver paid for mentoring as an associate to Greenhill Consulting should possess the following in addition:

• A recognised accreditation as a professional advisor/mentor such as SFEDI or Institute of Consulting
• Appropriate professional indemnity insurance
• A minimum of 2 years experience working as a business adviser
• Two client references/testimonials
